Move It Challenge

We challenge each elementary school in the county to a movement challenge! Armed with pedometers, students keep track of their steps and movements. Each school wins funds towards P.E. equipment.

Gardening Classes

HKCF partners with USU Extension to offer free, expert gardening classes. Class topics include soil amendment, container gardening, pruning, and garden pest control. Attendees who attend 4 of 6 classes received a free $40 gift card to True Value Hardware.

Mini-Olympics

Before school started in the fall, we held a Mini Olympics! With a bike obstacle course, misting distance dash and a stress-star shot put, fun was had by all the students! It was a great and healthy way to start the school year off right!

Garden Tour

Residents of Kane County had an oppourtunity to show off their amazing gardens! Gardens from Kanab to Orderville were highlighted.

Healthy Living Challenge

This 12 week challenge targeted overall health with weekly newsletters that contained healthy recipes and wellness articles as well as a highlighted trail each week.

National Trails Day

This event included ribbon cutting ceremonies, a family friendly hike, and information booths. This event was a great a way to learn more about the local trail system as well as the different uses for each trail.
